Sam Neely Passes,

Sam Neely died Wednesday evening at his home on Padre Island. Sam was well known and loved by thousands of music lovers here in Corpus Christi and literally all over the world.
He had a fantastic career and wrote some of the great hits known by fans of popular music and country music too.

Sam Meyers Passes Away
The great harmonica player, singer and long time front man for Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets died on Monday, July 17, of throat cancer in his home town, Dallas, Texas.
Meyers had been unable to speak or perform for the past two years.
Meyers was a nine time W.C. Handy Award winner and last February received the Blues Ambasssador award in his former home state of Mississippi.
Meyers career reaches back into the fifties when he was a drummer with Ellmore James.
